What MAX, Maggie, and Flint can do
FieldGate has a built-in AI assistant available to managers in the Assistant tab. You can talk to three characters — MAX (general), Maggie (scheduling & people-focused), and Flint (data-driven). All three have the same full capabilities.
Actions MAX can take directly
- Scheduling — Create, update, or delete shifts. Ask it to build a full week's schedule for your team.
- Jobs — Create jobs, update job status, assign or unassign workers.
- Time approval — Review and approve pending time entries. MAX always describes what it found and asks for confirmation first.
- Invoices & proposals — Create invoices and proposals with line items, tax rates, and client details.
- Calendar events — Add events to your team calendar.
- Emails — Draft and send emails to team members or clients. MAX shows you the content before sending.
What MAX can answer
- Job costs, expenses, and profitability breakdowns
- Payroll totals, hours per employee, overtime flags
- Schedule conflicts or gaps in coverage
- Material cost estimates (especially accurate if you've uploaded a price list)
- Marketing copy, proposals, client emails, team announcements
- Business strategy, pricing advice, job quoting
Navigating the app — MAX can guide you
If MAX can't do something directly, it will tell you exactly where to go. For example: "Go to Settings → Price Lists to upload your supplier sheet" or "Generate a Quick Pay QR from the Widgets tab."
What MAX cannot do
Some actions require you to navigate manually — running a payroll period, connecting Stripe, uploading a logo, or setting a billing plan. MAX will always tell you the exact path to get there.
